Youth Therapy
Whether you are a teenager yourself or a loved one of a teenager, while it can be exciting, it is also very difficult. Puberty is often experienced as a time of change that can lead to insecurity.
Therapy provides children and adolescents with an opportunity to identify, discuss and understand their specific problems and develop essential coping skills and move rapidly towards the identified and set goals.
Live while we are young!
According to thatWHO:
-
Globally, one in seven 10-19 year olds has a mental disorder, accounting for 13% of the global burden of disease in this age group.
-
Depression, anxiety and behavioral disorders are the leading causes of illness and disability in adolescents.

Mental health plays a crucial role in our physical and mental development and significantly influences how we think, feel and act. Most parents would not hesitate to consult a doctor for their child's medical needs, in fact it would be considered negligent not to do so. Likewise, the knowledgeable parent also recognizes when their child may benefit from speaking to a professional and understands that such intervention is in no way a sign of parental failure, but rather a sign of parental commitment to their child's well-being.

Youth therapy is based on the goal of giving young people the opportunity to come into contact with unresolved life issues. It focuses on providing youth with opportunities to understand their underlying thoughts, feelings and behaviors that can help them make a difference in life and overcome their obstacles to living a productive life.

Adolescent therapy focuses on the emotional development of adolescents. Because adolescence is a time of emotional vulnerability, there is a greater predisposition to reactivity, impulsivity, and mood swings.

At Praxis Alive, we focus on helping young people move towards the future they want and learn what can be done differently using the skills, strategies and ideas they already have - rather than walking towards the problem focus. Our approach treats young people as experts on their own lives. We ask questions to help youth move toward the future they want and to help them make positive changes in their lives.

Several studies have been conducted stating the same thing; Without proper and timely treatment, a teenager's and adolescent's problems can become serious and lead to more serious, long-lasting difficulties.
