Depression
Depression is more than just being unhappy or annoyed for a few days. Most people go through periods of feeling down, but when you're depressed, you feel sad for a long time, not just a few days. Some people think that depression is normal and not a real illness. This is a misconception; It's a real disease with real symptoms. Depression is not a sign of weakness or something you can "pull yourself out of" by "pulling yourself together".
Depression (major depression) is a common and serious medical condition that negatively affects how you feel, how you think and how you act. Luckily, it's also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and decrease your ability to function at work and at home.
